Kasebuturanyi is a hilltop village in the Nyamagabe area of Rwanda'a Southern Province (map).

For most in the village, casual labour paid at around US$1/day is the means of subsistence.

Some of the women augment this with making clay pots, although the introduction of metal cooking pots and plastic water containers has cut demand to the point where they can only sell a pot for less that 50 cents US.

Self help groups arrived in Kasebuturanyi in October 2016. Here we follow Immaculate, Philomene, and Ancille as they join a self help group and work to transform their lives.
